Favorite Words

Regolith - the loose bits covering rock.

I like the word. It sounds old and heavy. When coupled with "lunar" it's all the sizzle of the first space age.


Hey, Bob - there's some regolith over here that looks really interesting. Bring the rover over here and let's get a sample.

Or

These floors? Cast regolith. With a little fixative and some buffing they're just what Fred and Ginger would have ordered. Now, if we can just get the Wilsons to park that damn excursion module in their own hanger and not on the street, this place would sell itself.
